Gio and three high school friends formed the quartet, "Wing It" and went on to win a Novice Championship in the Johnny Appleseed District in 2017 and earned their way into the International NextGen Varsity Barbershop competition twice (2018 and 2019) and a ranking of 16th in the world!

Four stellar vocalists and long-time barbershop competitors formed a quartet in 2023 and rose to a ranking of 8th in the world in the NextGen competition in their first contest together as the quartet "Average Intelligence".

Gio (singing baritone now), and tenor Sam Rickert recently joined one of the elite NextGen quartets, "Talk of the Town".. Talk of the Town with lead Bernie Reen and bass Niko Porter placed 4th in the competition in 2024 and have their sights set on higher heights in 2025.
